Prepare Your Domain for Transfer

Get Your Authorization Code

1. Log in to your IWantMyName account and

2. Navigate to the Domains section in your main dashboard.

3. Select the domain you wish to transfer.

You'll find the Authorization Code (also known as EPP code or transfer code) displayed on this page next to Transfer Auth Code. Make sure your domain is unlocked to access this code.

Unlock Your Domain

If your authorization code is hidden, your domain is likely locked. Click the unlock link to reveal it. Some country-code top-level domains (ccTLDs) might not require unlocking due to registry policies, so this step may not apply to all domains.

Initiate the Domain Transfer into 101domain

Submit and pay for your domain name transfer request

• Visit the domain name transfer page to purchase a transfer.

• You will be charged and your domain name will automatically be renewed for an additional year.

• Configure your domain name settings during checkout and configure add-ons such as WHOIS Privacy and web hosting.

Follow the instructions sent to you by email.

• In most cases, unlocking and authorization code is all that is necessary and the process will complete automatically within 5 days.

• If the process differs to transfer in your particular domain name, our system will inform you with clear instructions after you've submitted the request.

Complete the Transfer

You have the option to expedite the transfer by manually approving it. Simply log back into your IWantMyName dashboard, visit the domain's page, and click the green approve button. Alternatively, if you choose not to manually approve, the transfer will automatically complete within 5-7 days.

Understand Transfer Restrictions:

• Certain domain types, such as generic top-level domains (gTLDs) like .COM, have specific restrictions. Transfers cannot occur if:

  • The domain was registered or had ownership changes in the last 60 days.

  • The domain was transferred to IWantMyName in the last 60 days.

• These restrictions are mandates from ICANN and registries, so they cannot be altered.
