How to Transfer Your Domain from Enom

Preparing Your Domain for Transfer

To prepare a domain for transfer, the registrant will need to unlock the domain and then request the EPP key.  Transfers take between five to seven days to complete from the date you initiate the transfer with your new provider. 

Unlock your domain

1. Sign in to your Enom account.

2. Choose Domains followed by My domains.

3. Locate the domain.

4. Choose General settings from the domain management dropdown.

5. Select Disable on the Registrar-Lock and Auto-Renew, then Save.

Request the transfer code

A transfer code, EPP key, or authorization code are all terms for the unique code needed to transfer your domain. While this unique code is valid for several days, we suggest initiating the transfer immediately. The EPP key can still be requested for expired domains. However, the registrant's email cannot be changed after expiration.

Once you initiate your transfer, the transfer is automatic and takes five to seven days.

1. Sign in to your account.

2. Choose Domains followed by My domains.

3. Search for your domain or select it from the list.

4. Choose General settings from the domain management dropdown.

5. Select Email auth info to Registrant.

The transfer key is sent to the domain registrant email - ensure it is valid.  Changing the registrant email will prompt a 60-day transfer lock that can be opted out.

Submit and pay for your domain name transfer request

• Visit the domain name transfer page to purchase a transfer.

• You will be charged and your domain name will automatically be renewed for an additional year.

• Configure your domain name settings during checkout and configure add-ons such as WHOIS Privacy and web hosting.

Follow the instructions sent to you by email.

• In most cases, unlocking and authorization code is all that is necessary and the process will complete automatically within 5 days.

• If the process differs to transfer in your particular domain name, our system will inform you with clear instructions after you've submitted the request.
