Setting up Secure Web Forwarding with Secure Web Accelerator (SWA) allows you to redirect traffic from your domain—including secure HTTPS traffic—using the Cloudflare® Content Delivery Network.
To ensure seamless web forwarding, you must direct both your root domain and its www subdomain to the designated forwarding IP address. Additionally, the Cloudflare network proxy must be active for both entries to ensure the traffic is routed correctly through the secure network.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Follow these steps to configure Secure Web Forwarding for your domain:
-
Log in to your 101domain account.
-
Select Domain Names from the main menu.
-
Locate your domain in the list or use the search field to find it in your portfolio.
-
Click on the domain name to open the management page, then navigate to the Manage DNS Records section.
-
Locate the following two records and ensure they point to your designated forwarding IP address:
-
A record for the root domain (represented by
@or left blank). -
A record for the www subdomain.
-
-
Click the cloud icon next to each of these records to turn it orange. This enables the proxy for both entries.
Important Considerations
-
Proxy Requirement: Both the root domain and the
wwwrecord must have the orange cloud icon enabled. -
Security Bypass: If either record is set to a gray cloud (disabled), traffic will bypass the SWA network, and secure web forwarding will fail to function.
