Trustee Services
Trustee Services (also known as “local presence” or “proxy services”) allow you to register country-specific domains that require a local contact—even if you don’t have one.
What Are Trustee Services?
Some country-code top-level domains (ccTLDs) require registrants to have a local presence or contact within the country. Our Trustee Service provides the legal presence needed for many ccTLDs. We act as your local administrative contact, fulfilling residency or business requirements so you can secure the domain you want.
Example:
Registering a .de domain (Germany) requires a local administrative contact with a German address. With Trustee Services, you can use our local German address, allowing you to retain full control of your domain while we fulfill the local presence requirement.
When Can I Use Trustee Services?
Trustee Services are available for select country-code domains that have local presence requirements. If you want to register a domain in a country that requires a local contact and it is on our list of supported domains, this service is available.
See our Trustee Services Page for a full list of supported domains.
If your desired domain is not listed, or if you have questions, please contact us or call 877.983.6624 (International: +1.760.444.8674).

FAQ
Do I own the domain if I use trustee services?
Yes, you maintain full control and management of your domain through your 101domain account. The Trustee Service only meets the local presence requirement.
Why does WHOIS reflect a different owner for my domain?
WHOIS will show the local administrative contact associated with the Trustee Service.
What if I fulfill the requirements myself down the line?
If you establish a presence in the country or find your own local contact, you can remove the trustee by submitting a support ticket with a contact update request.
